Kiwis stumble against Windies

AN incisive spell from West Indies pacer Andre Russell pegged back New Zealand in the early exchanges of the opening Digicel One-Day International match at Sabina Park in Kingston.

The West Indies won the toss and put in New Zealand to take first strike on a flat-looking batting surface, but Russell took 3-20 as the visitors struggled to 99-5 after 34 overs.

Off-spinner Sunil Narine and captain Darren Sammy have taken one wicket each.

The ‘Black Caps’ skipper Kane Williamson has top scored so far with 24.
