DASCECA/Major Links recording artiste Bugle has released a multi-track mix tape titled Psalms.
It chronicles the deejay’s prolific career. Bugle says the title was inspired by one of history’s great works.
“I think Psalms is one of the most informative chapters of the Bible so based on the content of this mix tape, I chose Psalms as the title, said Bugle.
Psalms was produced by Sean ‘Razz’ Cousley of the selector duo Razz and Biggy.
“The feedback has been positive and the fans enjoy the tracks that they hear,” Bugle said. “They have been asking me about my album so I just wanted to give them something to keep their ears in gear until they get the official album, and to let them know that my standard of music hasn’t dropped.”
Among the guests on Psalms are Dillinger, Etana, Vybrant, Jahmiel, Proppa Fade, Ding Dong, Blak Diamond and Oriel.
In addition to the mix tape, Bugle has been busy working with top producers including TJ Records, Daseca Productions, CR203 Productions, Notice Production, Romeich Records, UIM Records and Frass Records.
Some of his recent songs are Jah Be with You, Life Span, Only Human, Live My Dream, and Rave til a Morning.
Amore rhythm drops August 21
The Amore rhythm is the latest project from Donsome Records.
Inspired by the trend of lovers rock beats, it features songs from established and emerging reggae acts.
Producer Adrian Hanson explains the idea behind the project.
“After producing various rhythms it became apparent that lovers rock is taking over the world. Peter ‘Shady’ Harrison and I dug deep to produce this project because we felt the artistes would be inspired to write great love songs,” Hanson pointed out.
Singer Ginjah contributes Gimme Your Love, while Sizzla is back with Love Connection. Former Digicel Rising Stars winner Shuga sings about her Greatest Love, while Nature sings about the Woman of My Dreams.
According to Hanson, the mix of established acts and newcomers is a strategic move.
“We wanted to open the doors for the new generation of artistes that are mastering their craft,” he said.
The Amore rhythm compilation album will be available on ITunes, Amazon and Emusic as of August 21.

Eyes Trust Eyes goes live
London-based reggae singer Eyes Trust Eyes says he prefers to record with live instruments instead of on computerised rhythms.
The use of computers has been prevalent in reggae and dancehall since the 1980s. But the artiste whose real name is Winston Gibbs says there is a different feel when live instruments are brought into the mix.
“I’m an artiste that doesn t like to record on computerised rhythm tracks. I love live music, when the music is played live you can feel it in your soul, with the computer beats it’s just not the same, he explained.
Eyes Trust Eyes, who is originally from Kingston, made his recording debut with Ghetto Youth Be Strong in 2010. He has recorded a solid collection of songs which include Freedom Fighter, Jah Jah a Mi Foundation, If You Give Your Love and Voice Calling.
He began recording after being involved in other aspects of the music business.
“I’ve always loved the music and been around it, I was influenced by the music of Junior Reid and Half Pint,” Eyes Trust Eyes said. “After leaving high school I got involved in the music business as a promoter, and promoted a lot of dances in my community with sounds like Stone Love and artistes like Tiger, Pan Head, Papa Biggy and Duck Man. I always knew I wanted to be a singer but the time just wasn’t right.”
Eyes Trust Eyes recently recorded the songs Don’t Touch My Herbs and Where the Party At, at the Tuff Gong studio. Both will be featured on his debut album which is tentatively titled Ghetto Youth Be Strong.
