Jah Cure raps with 2 Pac

REGGAE artiste Jah Cure has released a new single entitled All By Myself which features late American gangster rapper Tupac Shakur.

Released last week, All By Myself was produced by Jamal ‘Mally Mall’ Rashad and co-written by Grammy-winning songwriter and musician Jason ‘Poo Bear’ Boyd.

The song, which was done digitally, is distributed by the independent label SoBe Entertainment based in South Beach, Florida and will be included on Jah Cure’s World Cry album which is set for release in November.

“This song came about through my contacts in the US who had a track with Tupac. I am good friends with the musician Poo Bear, who is known for production with Usher, Lupe Fiasco, Kelly Rowland and other superstars, and who helped me write a few lines around this song. I believe it is a good fit, remember that Tupac went to prison too, he understands the struggle and he is the Marley of his art form, so it was an authentic collaboration,” said Jah Cure.

“Tupac was one of my favourite artistes before I even knew I was gonna have the opportunity to collaborate with him. Millions to Tupac fans will hear this song, and combined with my fans, this is going to be a hit song for my album given the great response on my Twitter, and Facebook so far … everyone loves it,” Jah Cure added.

Jah Cure recently returned to Jamaica after negotiating a deal with a major telecommunications company to sponsor concerts on October 10, 11, and 12 in the Bahamas.

The singer, whose hits include Love Is, Longing For and Unconditional Love, is no stranger to international collaborations. He has partnered with American pop acts Rick Ross, Mary J. Blige, Flo Rida and fellow reggae artiste Junior Reid.

Canadian rap superstar Drake also sampled Jah Cure’s reggae single, Farmer’s Pleasure, for his Undergound Kingz hit.

“It’s good to see the hip-hop artistes recognising me. Drake sampled one of my songs and I recently received my cheque for it so I have to say thanks to Drake,” he said.

Jah Cure will begin a tour of Africa on November 1.

Tupac Shakur, who was known by his stage names 2 Pac and Makaveli, was an American rapper and actor. He sold over 75 million records worldwide making him an one of the best selling artistes in the world. He was shot and killed on September 13, 1996.
