Sagicor employees come together in aid of charity
THE Planning Committee of the annual Sagicor Motivational Seminar (SMS) has confirmed that the Best Care Foundation will benefit as the charity for this year’s seminar slated to take place at Iberostar Resorts from September 27 through 30.
Barrington Groves, brand manager, Sagicor was zealous in explaining the relevance of this annual charity.
“Sagicor lends support to entities in need all year round; but the SMS period is one which facilitates team members coming together and giving of themselves,” claimed Groves.
Sagicor team members have raised $340,000 through the annual seminar toward the refurbishment of the institution and will stage a formal hand-over on September 15; a date which coincides with refurbishing plans for the establishment. Team members have volunteered their time and effort to work on location at Best Care Foundation in Kingston to give the dining room and kitchen at the institution a face-lift.
Marcia Richards, chairman of the Sagicor Planning Committee, was eager to share the enthusiasm of Sagicor employees in anticipation of the annual SMS.
“The energies of Sagicor team members is typically that of a positive nature and each year when there is extra emphasis placed on helping a charity, there is a twinkle in everyone’s eyes,” shared Richards.
The insurance company also initiated a clothing and school supplies drive among its employees and solicited help from Lasco and other corporate companies, which have committed to donating a large quantity of toiletries and other pertinent supplies to the foundation.
