The Jamaica Manufacturers’ Association (JMA) hosted its 44th Annual Awards Banquet and Presentation Ceremony last Thursday at the Wyndham Kingston hotel — a well-executed event by Creative Media Events smoothly handled by the evening’s master of ceremonies Fae Ellington — recognising the work of key players in the industry and their contributions to social corporate responsibility. Ahead of a sumptious Brand Jamaica dinner by the Wyndham food and beverage team, guests were treated to a red-carpet welcome hosted by Miss Jamaica World 2006 Dr Sara Lawrence and NMW. Plus the reinvention of Jaunel McKenzie continues. It’s Monday and you’re reading Page 2.

Celebrating Excellence

JMA president Brian Pengelley and his fab wife Lisa-May paused for a red-carpet photo-op ahead of the banquet.

Manufactured Style

We reckon Metry Seaga, deputy president of the JMA, and his wife Nadine Burrowes-Seaga would be favourites for the best-dressed couple. Now if only there were such an award on the evening.

Treasured Moment

Fabellas Jodie Gregg (left), treasurer of the JMA, and Alissa Forrester, director of SMJ Packaging Distributors Limited, struck a pose for our lens on the red carpet.

Red Carpet-Ready

The always-stylish Yodit Hylton dazzled in an animal-print sequinned design by local designer Courtney Washington.

Winning Style

Tamar Nelson, who won the award for best-dressed female, rode the fashion waves in a coral one-shoulder creation from local design house Heather Laine.

Digicel Business

Digicel Jamaica CEO Andy Thorburn (centre) was joined on the red carpet by colleagues (from left) Martin Thame, recruitment manager; Nerish Nathan, business account manager; Brian Bennett-Easy, head of Digicel Business; and business account manager Stephen McHugh.

A Social Encounter

Kate Hendrickson, director of projects — Jamaica Pegasus, Courtleigh Hotel & Suites and Knutsford Court Hotel, and beau Gerard Fontaine, president of Fraser Fontaine & Kong, were out to celebrate with the JMA last Thursday.

Sartorial Styling

Coldfield Manufacturing director Brett Wong won the award for Best Dressed Male at Jamaica Manufacturers’ Association annual awards banquet.

Leading Lady

Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller, the evening’s guest speaker, was a picture of sophistication in a glitzy lilac evening suit.
