Blake, Cunningham back to face JADCO early November
Jamaican athletes Dominique Blake and Ricardo Cunningham will have to return to face the disciplinary committee of the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission next month after their cases were adjourned yesterday.
Cunningham is due to return on November 1, while Blake, who was a member of the team that took part in the London Olympics, will return on November 3, 4 and 5.
It is understood that a letter from a physician presented by national 800m champion Cunningham was rejected by the disciplinary committee on the basis that the doctor must attend the hearing.
Blake’s case was adjourned after she was given the wrong set of documents by JADCO, who was ordered to reissue her with the correct ones by next week.
Blake is facing her second ban after she is reported to have tested positive for the stimulant methylhexaneamine, the same substance she received a nine-month ban for in 2006.
Cunningham tested positive for pseudoephedrine, a substance found in most cold medicines.
