Jamaica slip in world netball ranking
MANCHESTER, England (CMC) — Netball powerhouse Jamaica has slipped one place to fourth in the latest International Federation of Netball Association (IFNA) world rankings.
The Sunshine Girls sit one place below England, who beat them 2-1 in a Test series last September in the United Kingdom.
The Jamaicans held the third spot for just five months following their 2-1 home victory over South Africa in August.
World title-holders Australia hold firm as the number-one team in the world ahead of New Zealand and England.
The Sunshine Girls, who finished a disappointing fourth in last year’s World Championships in Singapore, are set to oppose England and New Zealand in Test matches next year.
The other Caribbean sides ranked in the top 10 are Trinidad and Tobago, eighth, and Barbados, ninth.
St Lucia, ranked at 13th, is the only other Caribbean team in the top 20.
