Ezroy Millwood passes on
2012 — A REAR-VIEW GLANCE
EZROY Millwood, advocate for public transport vehicle operators’ rights, was found dead in his home in Leas Flat, St Andrew, in November.
He was 70. The police said no foul play is suspected.
Millwood, who was head of the National Transport Co-operative Society (NTCS), took the Government to task over a decision to end the sub-franchise agreement between his group and the Jamaica Urban Transit Company.
His 12-year legal battle appeared to yield dividends as in September, the Court of Appeal ruled that the Government should pay $1.8 billion plus interest at three per cent to the NTCS. The Government, however, contested the calculation of the award.
Millwood died two days before his case was resheduled for court.
