A stunning freekick from substitute Andre Morrison propelled Sporting Central Academy (SCA) to an exciting 2-1 come-from-behind win against Tivoli Gardens in their Red Stripe Premier League game at Edward Seaga Stadium yesterday.

Christopher Jackson had given the home team a 10th-minute lead from the spot, powering straight down the middle.

But the visiting SCA roared back in style and the ever-dangerous LeVaughn Williams latched onto a long ball before firing past goalkeeper Deron Duncan in the 59th minute.

Morrison found the clincher in the 73rd from a magical 25-metre freekick for a deserved victory.

The inconsistent SCA leapfrogged Tivoli Gardens into eighth spot on 28 points and coach Lenworth Hyde was a satisfied man.

“We wanted to win this one so bad, having lost two in a row. I didn’t think we had a good second round, but we finished on a high and it’s a good momentum for the third round,” added Hyde.

Meanwhile, Tivoli’s poor form continued as they crashed to their ninth defeat and slipped a spot to ninth on 27 points. Assistant coach Alvin Shaw was clearly disappointed with their fluctuating form.

“One minute we perform well, the next minute it’s falling apart and it has a lot to do with inexperience,” said Shaw.
