Azan hits the mark with voters at Skeet Club AGM

KHALEEL Azan has been elected the new president of the Jamaica Skeet Club at the largest-ever Annual General Meeting of the organisation on Sunday.

After very vibrant discussions on club activities, 75 people voted, with a large majority selecting Azan as the new president.

The new committee will comprise: Azan (president), Leighton Sasso (vice-president), Evan Thwaites (secretary), and Errol Ziadie (treasurer).

Committee members are Robert Reid, Geoffrey Ziadie, James Chen, and Paul Burke.

The new administration looks forward to achieving increased sponsorship and branding of the club and continuing the exciting schedule of regular club competitions spearheaded by outgoing President Brett Thwaites.

Azan, popularly known as ‘Coach’, wants to grow the membership of the club and encourage more participation in regular club shoots.

The new president would love to see greater involvement by the “life-members”, and was grateful to the large number of them who turned up at the meeting to show their support in the interest of the club.

Azan feels that both regular competitions and continuing his very vibrant junior programme will contribute to the club’s long-time goal of entering the Olympics.
