Macka Diamond rocks Mas Camp
PROBABLY it was the Boys and Girls Athletic Championships at the adjacent National Stadium or the fluctuating weather that contributed to the low turnout for Bacchanal Fridays at New Mas Camp last week.
The competition and chilly conditions did not prevent those attending from creating a musical inferno. By midnight, the party was in full swing with Trinidad’s Kenwin Gardiner and homeboy DJ Sanjay selecting pulsating soca hits from the likes of Kes The Band, Destra Garcia, Machel Montano, and Bunji and Fayon Lyons.
Surprise guest artiste Macka Diamond had the moderate audience dancing to Cowfoot, Bun Him, Dye Dye, and 40 and Fabulous during her saucy performance.
Next, MC Jerry Benzwick invited female patrons to a dance-off with the winner getting an upgrade to the Observer Appleton VIP Lounge and a Carnival mix CD from the Jamaica Observer, sponsors for the evening.
She also won two VIP tickets for Saturday’s Digicel-sponsored Bacchanal event.
Guest artiste for Saturday is Kes The Band, Trinidad’s 2012 International Soca Monarch Winner. The following Saturday, the party heads to James Bond Beach in St Mary for Beach J’ouvert with live performances from Shurwayne Winchester, Patrice Roberts and Farmer Nappy.
