Granville’s win streak snapped
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Corinaldi Avenue Primary snapped Granville Primary’s three-game win streak and took over the lead in Zone B of the St James Football Association VMBS Under-13 football competition with a 2-0 win in the first round game played at the UDC field yesterday.
Richard Thompson scored twice, once in either half, to lead Corinaldi Avenue to their third win as they are now the only unbeaten team left in the zone. They moved to 10 points, one more than Granville who had conceded just one goal in their three previous games.
Howard Cooke Primary took over the lead in Zone D on goal difference over Cambridge Primary, both on nine points after edging Irwin Primary 1-0. Garnet Hudson’s late first-half goal made the difference.
In the other game, Catadupa and Tower Hill drew 1-1.
