Spot Valley, Cornwall College on collision course
WAKEFIELD, Trelawny — Defending champions Spot Valley High and former champions Cornwall College look set to clash in the final of the ISSA Western Conference Under-14 boys basketball competition after extending their wining runs to three straight as the return-round started on Thursday at Muschett High in Wakefield, Trelawny.
Spot Valley beat William Knibb Memorial 29-18 after a walkover win in the first round, while Cornwall College maintained their high-scoring ways with a big 48-21 win over Muschett High. Cornwall had beaten Muschett 49-6 at home in their first meeting.
After their first-round game was washed out on Tuesday, Spot Valley High and Cornwall are tied with William Knibb, each on six points, but have played a game less while Muschett are on five points.
On Thursday, Brandon Campbell scored 10 points for Cornwall as they dominated the home team leading 12-1, 22-11 and 33-14 at the intervals while Giovanni Bailey scored seven points.
Mario Street scored 13 points for Spot Valley in their win, while Shamar Bucknor scored 11 points.
