Bolt to run at Cayman Invitational Wednesday
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Six-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt says he has recovered from a slight hamstring injury and will run at the Cayman Invitational on Wednesday.
“My hamstring is feeling good and I look forward to running my first 100m of the season,” the double world record-holder said on his website.
Bolt had opted against competing at last weekend’s Jamaica Invitational in Kingston after consultations with his coach, Glen Mills, who both decided to not risk injury.
“I am disappointed to miss the Kingston meet as I love running in front of my home town in Jamaica. I’m told it is only a Grade 1 strain so hopefully I will be OK soon,” Bolt had said.
In Cayman Bolt is expected to face countryman and recent training partner Michael Frater and former World Champion, Kim Collins of St Kitts in the 100 metres.
