Catherine Hall face Knights
MONTEGO BAY, St James — After snapping a three-game losing skid to start the season, two-time defending champions Catherine Hall All-Stars will be seeking back-to- back wins when they take on promoted MBCC Knights in the first game of a Flow National Basketball League-West double header at the Montego Bay Cricket Club today at 6:00 pm.
All-Stars ended their string of futility on Sunday with a close two-point (58-56) win over Railway Lane Tigers to leave them as the only team yet to win a game going into today’s second game, against Hoopers.
Goyan Malcolm and Vaughn Corke combined for 42 points for Catherine Hall and will be expected to lead the champions against Knights, winners of two of their four games played so far.
Knights have shown flashes in their first season at this level, beating Tigers and Hoopers and have been competitive in all their games so far.
Hoopers are coming off a loss on the weekend and will be seeking to atone when they take on Tigers, who were just short against All-Stars on Sunday.
Granville Jaguars have, meanwhile, maintained their perfect start with two wins over the weekend to improve to 10 points from five straight wins. On Saturday, Granville beat Flames 65-59 and a day later beat Knights 103-78.
Hoopers and Knights are on six points each followed by All-Stars and Flames on five each, and Tigers on four points.
