INVESTIGATORS from the police’s Trans-national Crimes and Narcotics Division on Tuesday seized 10 packages containing 14.25 lb of marijuana and four packages containing 2.25lb of cocaine from a passenger’s wheel-chair at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James.
The passenger, Miguel Robinson, who was travelling in a wheelchair, was arrested in connection with the seizure.
Robinson, the police reported, was about to board a Caribbean Airlines flight to the Bahamas when he was interviewed by the police. His wheelchair was searched by members of the Caribbean Search Centre and the drugs found in the battery cases of the wheelchair.
The marijuana seized was valued at $43,000 and the cocaine $1.million.
