Danielle The Rebel
DANIELLE (aka D.I.) has been bubbling since 2006 when she covered Boney M’s Brown Girl in The Ring with fellow deejay Beenie Man.
She has collaborated with a number of other acts including Shabba Ranks, Ce’Cile and Cherine Anderson with whom she recorded the 2007 hit song, Beat It.
She does things her way on The Rebel, her debut album which is produced by Sly and Robbie.
“It’s an immense opportunity to work with Taxi Records. Sly and Robbie have worked with the best in the music industry on a local and international level, so I feel blessed,” says Danielle. “The tracks on the album are very different and far from what you would expect from a dancehall artiste. It’s world music. So if you don’t have a passion for genuine, authentic music, then you won’t be able to comprehend or appreciate this album.”
