Murphy signs lucrative adidas contract
FORMER CARIFTA Games Under-20 100m champion Jazeel Murphy has signed a multi-year contract with German sporting good provider adidas, his agent Cubie Seegobin confirmed to the Jamaica Observer yesterday.
Seegobin would not divulge any details of the contract or the length, but the Observer has heard it is a lucrative one for the IAAF World Junior Championships 100m finalist and 4x100m relay silver medallist from Barcelona, Spain, last year.
Murphy, the former Bridgeport high sprinter who now trains with the Glen Mills-led Racers Track Club, and is one of the island’s top junior athletes, equalled his personal best 10.25 seconds in the 100m at last weekend’s JAAA/Supreme Ventures National Junior Championships at the National Stadium.
