Jesse Royal looks to Asia
REGGAE artiste Jesse Royal is expecting massive exposure from his mixtape In Comes the Small Axe set to be released in Japan in the next three weeks.
The set is a rework of an original tape which was released in May.
“It will have three new tracks produced by Gochopan Records out of Japan,” said Andrew Lyn of Royal’s management team.
XTM Nation, Crash Dummy Production, and Overstand Entertainment are also on the production credits.
Lyn said the mixtape was in response to the demand from the East Asian country.
“We have been getting a good response from Japan so we’re just keeping it going,” Lyn told the Jamaica Observer.
Jesse Royal — who hails from Maroon Town, St James — is currently working on his yet-to-be-titled debut album, which will be completed by December.
“It will be a little glimpse into how one generation sees life, what we think can be adjusted and the hurt we felt at the hands of the ones we trusted. I will be leaving it open to interpretation. I will leave the space open for creativity, not duplicate or replicate what has already been done,” Royal said in a release.
