Buddo takes a chance on love
SINGER Patrick Buddo has released a new single Take Chance, done with show promoter/photographer Marvin ‘Horseman’ Pitterson.
The single was released last week by Romero’s Music label.
“Basically, it’s a romantic song about convincing a woman to take chance on love,” Buddo said about the track which hears Horseman in the role of ‘toaster’.
Known in music circles as promoter of events such as Stars R Us, Full Black and Giants of the ’80s, Horseman recorded the song Exterminator Control Jamaica in the 1980s.
He also commented on working with Horseman, who got his moniker through years of working at the Caymanas Park racetrack as a photographer.
“He is a professional in the studio and I hope this is the first of others.”
The unlikely collaboration came about when Horseman got a ‘riddim’ built and suggested he and Buddo record a song together on it.
Buddo, who has been recording since 2005, is strongly influenced by roots singer Junior Byles. One of his recent songs is a cover of the Byles classic, Fade Away.
He says he is working on his debut album which will be a mix of covers and originals.
