Seaview, New Forest triumphant in Alpart/Essex Valley Football Competition
SANTA CRUZ, St Elizabeth — A new champion was crowned in the Alpart/Essex Valley U-13 Football Competition recently, when last year’s beaten finalist, Seaview Primary School, settled the score with defending champions Russells All-Age School.
Seaview outscored Russells 2-0 to grab the Alpart/Essex Valley Championship Trophy. In the U-16 category, defending champions New Forest Primary & Junior High School retained their championship with a nine-goal trouncing of Mayfield All-Age.
The competition, which was played over a four-week period, kicked off on October 24. Sixteen schools participated in the U-13 category and four in the U-16 category.
Coordinator of the competition Andrew Bent commended all the schools, officials, parents, and supporters for continuing to make the Alpart/Essex Valley Football Competition a success. Bent also commended Alpart, stating that “we can’t find words to express our gratitude to Alpart through its owners UC RUSAL for their unwavering support of the Essex Valley Programme”.
Alpart’s Senior Administrator of Human Resource Courtney White said “the matches were played in an atmosphere of true and great camaraderie and discipline, both between and amongst the teams”.
