Spurs blank Stoke 3-0; Chelsea clip Liverpool 2-1

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Tottenham blanked Stoke 3-0 Sunday in the English Premier League moving three points off the top four.

Roberto Soldado opened the score with a penalty in the 37th minute after Ryan Shawcross handled Emmanuel Adebayor’s volley.

Mousa Dembele added a second after the break when he rifled in a 20-yard shot.

Then Aaron Lennon’s angled strike in the 69th minute sealed Tottenham’s first home league-win in five outings.

Meanwhile, Chelsea got by Liverpool 2-1 with strikes by Hazard (17th) and Samuel Eto’o (34) to reduce the gap on Arsenal at the top.

Liverpool went ahead in the third minute when Martin Skrte tapped in.

Arsenal still lead the table on 42 points, after defeating Newcastle 1-0. Second is Manchester City on 41 followed by Chelsea 40, and Everton 37.

Everton 2-1 Southampton

Newcastle 0-1 Arsenal

Chelsea 2-1 Liverpool

Tottenham 3-0 Stoke
