Arnett blow away Maxfield in Jackie Bell KO
National Premier League campaigners Arnett Gardens brushed aside Maxfield Park 3-0 in the Kingston & St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Yellow Pages Jackie Bell Knockout competition on Sunday at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex.
Playing without most of their top players, the Premier League outfit continued their rich vein of form, won the tie 5-0 on aggregate to move into the third round.
The ‘Junglists’ dominated the game throughout and were in front from as early as the 36th minute through a Michael Russell strike. They were 2-0 up when schoolboy Rafique Bryan scored in the 64th minute before substitute Leon Strickland sealed the deal in the 89th minute.
Coach Jerome Waite applauded his team, but was disappointed by the challenge put up by the opponents.
“It was a good win. I expected more from the opposing team (as) they didn’t offer as much as I expected them to,” he said.
Maxfield Park played most of the game with 10 men as Dean Ferguson received a red card in the 23rd minute for abusive language aimed at the assistant referee.
