St Elizabeth Major League update
Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth — Donjae Smith and Miguel Barnaby scored two goals each as Appleton Estates swamped Mountainside FC 6-0 in a recent round of the Wray and Nephew-sponsored St Elizabeth Major League.
Smith netted in the fourth and 53rd minutes, Barnaby in the sixth and 37th. Marlon Fletcher in the seventh minute and Andre Mitchell in the 80th also found the net.
In another high-scoring game, Burnt Ground stopped Middle Quarters 5-4. Rushane Scarlett scored four goals in the 14th, 19th, 21st and 55th and Khesanio Hall in the 38th minute for Burnt Ground, while Christopher Malcolm, Akito Graham, Andrew Blake, and Andrew Shakespeare scored in the ninth, 13th, 70th, and 77th minutes for the losing team.
In other games over the last week, Young Brazil FC defeated Tafari Lions 2-1. Gavin Burton in the 26th and Ernel Dunkley in the 43rd minute scored for Young Brazil, while Derval Frazer scored the lone goal for Tafari Lions in the 41st minute.
Newell overwhelmed Holland 3-0 with Lingarley Vassell scoring twice in the 39th and 81st minutes. Parottee United beat Round Hill United 3-0 with goals from Sheldon Bryan, Adian Lindo, and Rohan Blackwood in the 51st, 70th and 75th minutes.
Black Star FC hammered Super Action 4-1 with Ricardo Reid scoring in the 12th and 77th minutes of play, Damion Daniels in the 78th minute and Davion Ash for Black Star FC. Taj Coley scored in the 58th minute for Super Action.
Tafari Lions edged Holland PYC 1-0 with Damion McKoy scoring in the 85th minute.
