Rage keeps it real on False Pretense
NEW YORK-BASED deejay Rage’s latest song, False Pretense, is inspired by personal experience.
The song is produced by Adrian ‘Donsome’ Hanson for Donsome Records.
“False Pretense is about my experience with a special someone. I want people to stop and say ‘that’s true’ when they listen to one of my songs,” said Rage (real name Rickardo Dinham).
Originally from Kintyre in St Andrew, Rage competed in the 2012 Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall contest. It was then that he met producers Cordell ‘Skatta’ Burrell and Peter ‘Shadyville’ Harrison who helped mould his sound.
“Thanks to Peter Harrison for my growth, it was a transformation from dancehall to reggae. It has led me to realise that reggae music is my comfort zone,” said Rage, whose debut album Crazy World will be released by Shadyhill Music/Donsome Records LLC.
