Singing D gears up for Singing D breakthrough
SINGER Singing D says he is determined to make the musical breakthrough this year and hopes songs produced by the Colah Colah team will do the trick.
Singing D is pushing the singles Because of The Guns and Wine and Pose.
“These songs are getting some good airplay in Jamaica and New York. I recently did a remix of both songs and they will be released in Europe and the US by the end of February,” he told this column.
Born Devon Campbell in St Ann, Singing D lives in New York. An auto mechanic by trade, he says he gave up fixing cars and trucks for music.
He remembers times when he worked in garages during the day, then hung out at dances at night.
“As a teenager, playing sound systems was one of the things I looked forward to the most. Playing and listening to music always made me happy,” said Singing D.
