Seniors warm-up for IAAF World Relay Championships
PHILADELPHIA, USA — Jamaica senior teams will use the USA vs The World relays on today’s final day of the 120th Penn Relays Carnival here at Franklin Field, Philadelphia, as a warm-up for next month’s inaugural IAAF World Relay Championships to be held in the Bahamas.
Four Jamaican teams, one male and female 4x100m and 4x400m have been named by the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) to take on teams from several other countries today.
Multiple Olympic and World Championships gold medallist Michael Frater will make a return from injury when he leads the men’s sprint relay team that will include Oshane Bailey, Jason Livermore and Rasheed Dwyer.
The women’s sprint relay team will see last year’s IAAF World Championships gold medallist Carrie Russell, Anniesha McLaughlin, Trishana Hawthorn and Kerron Stewart.
The men’s 4x400m team will come from Javere bell, Chumaien Fitten, Ricardo Chambers, Allodin Fothergill and Jermaine Brown, while the female team will be chosen from Christine Day, Annastacia Leroy, Patricia Hall, Natoya Goule and Shericka Williams.
