Two men shot dead in Portmore
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — Police officers in the St. Catherine South Division are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of two men in separate incidents in the parish on Friday, May 2.
Dead are 51-year-old Howell Pommells, otherwise called ‘Tiger’ of Boston Road, Waterford in Portmore, St Catherine and 30-year-old Keino Williams of Portland East and Caymanas Gardens, also in Portmore.
In the first incident, about 9:40 am, Pommells was among a group of men on West Trade Way in Waterford, when an unknown assailant approached the group and opened gunfire hitting Pommells. The Waterford Police was alerted and he was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. No one else was injured in the incident.
Just over an hour later, about 11:00 am, Williams was allegedly returning from errands on Lambach Avenue, Caymanas Gardens when an armed man alighted from a motor vehicle and opened fire hitting him. The Caymanas Police was alerted and Williams was taken to hospital where he died.
No motive has been established for either incident.
