FALMOUTH, Trelawny — TWO titles will be on offer at the Elliston Wakeland Centre on Sunday as the Trelawny Football Association’s Monymusk White Overproof Rums Division One and Major League competitions come to an end with the playing of the return leg finals.

Former parish kingpins Baca Star United take a 1-0 lead into the Division One game against mid-season champions Upsetters, while Salt Marsh and Kinloss are poised for a play to the death in the Major League game after a 0-0 draw in the first leg last Sunday.

The Division One decider will start at 1:00pm, followed by the Major League game.

In addition to the title and first- prize money, the Major League teams are also playing for a spot in next season’s Western Confederation Super League and will effectively replace Duanvale FC, last season’s Trelawny Major League champions. Duanvale FC beat Spicy Hill in last season’s final but failed to hold on to their place in the league and were relegated.

Upsetters and Salt Marsh United are both seeking to complete season doubles, after winning the mid-season finals earlier in the season, but will be up against teams that will be hoping to upset the apple cart.

If the form from last week holds, then fans will be in for a treat, as both games are set for pulsating finishes after close competitive games last week.

Kinloss FC have an edge over the rampant Salt Marsh team, beating them 1-0 in the cross- zone third round on their way to topping the points tables and will seek to halt their run of titles.

After winning the Division One last season, Salt Marsh United won the Major League mid-season title with a 2-0 beating of Prospect Links.

While Salt Marsh United were able to dispatch Prospect Links in the semi-finals, it took penalty kicks for Kinloss to get by a stubborn Spicy Hill team that had gone on a winning run late in the third round to secure back-to-back places in the semi-finals.

Baca Star and Upsetters have already secured promotion to the Major League next season, but pride will be at stake with the first place and trophy on the line.

Meanwhile, Randy McDonald’s second-half strike, from a defensive error was the difference between the teams on Sunday, but Upsetters FC which had also topped their Division One tables are expected to come back and seek to wrest the initiative from Baca

Star United.

Both games on Sunday are play to finish and if the aggregate scores are tied after regulation, extra-time will be used, and if that fails to decide a winner, the outcome will be decided on penalty kicks.
