NWC: Mandeville water supply to be regularised soon
MANDEVILLE, Manchester — Communities in the Greater Mandeville area that have been experiencing intermittent water supply since Friday can expect to see some level of regularity soon.
“We expect to see a significant improvement by next weekend,” Julia Gordon, National Water Commission (NWC) community relations manager for the Western Division, told the Jamaica Observer.
She said that a pump located in Pepper, St Elizabeth, which assists in the flow of water supply to Manchester, is out of service.
A replacement, Gordon said, has been ordered from overseas and will be in the island this week.
She said that residents in Greater Mandeville are without water more times than they usually do water due to the hilly nature of the parish.
The affected areas include Ward Avenue, Mike Town, Heartease, May Day, Balvenie, Georges Valley, Lincoln, Grey Ground, Newport, Albion, Marshall’s Pen and Dunrobin.
