AW14 Trends by MAC
The much-anticipated MAC Autumn/ Winter presentation took place on Wednesday, August 6, at the LMNT Gallery in Miami. With the enterprising Gisel Calvillo, MAC PRO senior artist in from Europe and armed with the latest runway looks, fashion and beauty editors from the Caribbean and South America were eager to get the first look at the TRENDS ahead of the AW14 catwalks.
Calvillo shared that for Autumn/Winter 2014 make-up has become something of a beautiful paradox: it’s about artistry to achieve something that looks essentially uncosmetic (thanks to ever more sophisticated and subtle make-up formulations and applications), she shared.
The morning’s buzzwords were:
Off-colour — subverts classic tones with a dirty edge to become the new neutrals.
Streamlined — eyes have a gestural quality to them that widens the eye.
On Reflection — explores how shine is the most crystallised direction of the season and, finally,
Unprocessed — make-up employs the skin’s own shades to embrace authenticity in every form.
