Dilly Chris looks to Hot Gyal
HOT GYAL is the latest single from deejay Dilly Chris who was born Chris Smith. The dancehall flavoured-track is produced by Andron ‘Izy Beats’ Cross.
“The idea for Hot Gyal came about while in the studios with Izy Beats. We were vibing to this incredible beat that he had just made so we decided that we wanted to do a song about a hot girl, who is being hated on by another girl. The beat has an old-school vibe so we decided to do the verses in an old-school flow, then switched it up on the hook to give it a more modern flow,” Dilly Chris told Splash.
A video for the single, shot on location in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Florida and directed by Izy Beats, is also out.
“The concept of the video is all about me hanging out with two beautiful young girls telling them how hot they are, letting them feel really good about themselves,” said Dilly Chris.
Based in Florida since 2006, Dilly Chris’s recent performances include West Palm Beach (where he opened for Nadine Sutherland), and Hollywood, Florida, where he performed alongside Wayne Wonder and Curly Cash.
“In recent months, I have seen a lot of progress in my career as far as being more in the studio working on some great music. I am also seeing where I’m getting more radio airplay and getting more shows. Producers have been reaching out and the streets are talking about Dilly Chris, but a lot more work needs to be done,” he said.
