St Patrick’s, Maverly capture netball titles
ST PATRICK’S and Maverly captured the 2014 Kingston and St Andrew Primary and Junior High Schoolgirls Junior and Senior Netball League titles, respectively, at New Day All-Age School last Wednesday.
St Patrick’s held off Iris Gelly to win an exciting Junior League final 14-13, while Maverly got past Constant Spring in a hard-fought encounter 16-14 in the Senior League final.
Winning coach of St Patrick’s Lecia Walters said she was happy for the victory and that her girls worked very hard for the win.
St Patrick’s were also the winner of the Open Rally competition played prior to the start of the league finals.
Shauna Lee Earle, coach of Maverly, said she relished the competitive nature of the final.
“It was hard work and a very competitive final between both teams as we had to come from behind before getting the better of our opponents in the last two quarters,” she said.
