National Honours & Awards Ceremony relocated to National Indoor Sports Centre

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Honours and Awards Ceremony will now be held at the National Indoor Sports Centre.

The relocation of the ceremony usually hosted at King’s House is due to the inclement weather, according to the Office of the Governor-General.

The customary post-event reception at King’s House has also been cancelled.

“We look forward to having the ceremony at the National Indoor Sports Centre and honouring the outstanding contributions of this year’s recipients,” the Governor-General’s office said.

The ceremony is scheduled to start at 9:00 am on October 21, which coincides with National Heroes Day. Award recipients are asked to arrive at the venue at 7:30 am.

All guests attending the function should be seated by 8:00 am for the official arrivals commencing at 8:30 am.
