Christmas promotion brings joy
Currently without a job, Raxon Reid breathed a sigh of relief when she learnt that Digicel Jamaica would pay her bills for a year, according to a news release from the telecoms provider.
“I’m not working right now, so to know that my bills have been taken care of for an entire year is the best gift that Digicel could have given me,” said Reid, who is from Coleyville in northern Manchester. She was the third winner of Free Bills for a Year in the Digicel Christmas Mission promotion, the news release said.
The mother of three said that she will use the opportunity to brighten up her children’s Yuletide.
“I can now concentrate on buying a little something for my children for Christmas because I won’t have to be worry about paying my bills,” Reid said.
Shericka Sinclair of Clarendon will also be enjoying a year of free bills, according to Digicel.
“This more than a pocket relief, this is a stress relief,” Sinclair said.
Both reportedly said they spend an average of $40,000 per month on their various bills and are looking forward to the savings that they will be enjoying in 2015.
Also joining the round of top weekly winners from central Jamaica were Cheena Hutchinson and Alex Evans, who both received brand-new DL800 smartphones along with one month’s data service, Digicel said.
The telecoms company said its Christmas Mission promotion will culminate with the grand prize draw of three winners from each county: the first winning $1 million dollars; the second, $500,000; and the third, $100,000.
Each winner will also take home a DL900, which was launched along with the DL800 at the end of November, as Digicel expanded its smartphone range in the Jamaican market.
There will also be the Ultimate Mission grand prize where customers will have a chance to win a brand-new 2015 Audi A3, $500,000, $300,000 or $200,000, Digicel said.
