Police to question 8 people arrested in St James
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The police are reporting the arrest of eight people in Kensington, St James, on reasonable suspicion of breaches of the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transactions) (Special Provisions) Act 2013.
On Thursday, an police operation was conducted at two premises in the area, where it is alleged that the occupants were involved in illicit activities.
At one of the premises, a large quantity of letter-size sheets of paper with information on people living abroad (lead sheets), cell phones and other electronic devices were seized. The eight people who occupied the premises were subsequently arrested.
They are expected to be charged, following interviews in the presence of their attorneys.
