DESPITE the legal problems surrounding UIM’s (Uptempo International Music’s) CEO/music producer, Andrew Sayeed ‘Anju Blaxxx’ Myrie, the label is continuing withits projects.

This, according to Tanya-Ann Thelwell, UIM Records manager, who spoketo Splash yesterday.

“The work continues. We just released the Bad Indian ‘riddim’ by Dinearo last week and we are currently working on Popcaan’s mixtape and a one drop ‘riddim’ to be released soon, ” she said.

In addition, UIM Records is also preparing upcoming singles from Blak Diamon, Dre Island and Bugle.

Myrie, who is UIM’s CEO and main producer, was arrested by United States law enforcement officers on lottery scam charges in Florida last Friday. He was granted bail on Wednesday when he appeared in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Miami.

His attorney, Nathan Diamond, said Federal prosecutors have appealed the ruling. Myrie is charged in the state of North Dakota with mail and wire fraud in connection with telemarketing fraud.

Myrie and his brother Shawn ‘Blak Diamon’ Myrie started the Uptempo Sound System several years ago, playing at Sweet 16 parties and talent shows. They established UIM Records in 1999.

UIM’s breakout song was 2007’s Dagga Dat by Bragga on the 300 Round beat.

The St Andrew label has since produced many hits, with 30-year-old Myrie emerging as one of dancehall’s leading producers. His hits include Bugle’s No Compatible.
