New York and more

Western Conference

Clippers on the rise

The LA Clippers defeated the Houston Rockets 110-95 on Wednesday with Deandre Jordan getting a game high 24 points. The win rises the Clippers to sixth seed while the Rockets retain their third seed slot.

The Oklahama City Thunder are beginning to find their form again after they destroyed the Memphis Grizzlies 105-89. Kevin Durant made a game high 21 points and 20 rebounds. Their win coupled with the New Orleans Pelican’s loss to Indianapolis means that OKC still have a chance to grab the final play-off spot.

Stephen Curry continued to show why he’s being touted as the best when he helped the Golden State Warriors to a 94 – 91 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Eastern Conference

Bulls beat Cavaliers

Bulls beat Cavaliers

The Toronto Raptors defeated the Washington Wizards courtesy of a buzzer beater from guard DeMar DeRozan.

The Chicago Bulls defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 113- 98 on Thursday with both Lebron James and Derrick Rose having 30-point games.

This was probably a result of the Cavaliers having to play back to back games. Fortunately they defeated Lebron’s former team, the Miami Heat 113-93.

The Boston Celtics barely overcame a fighting Atlanta Hawks to win their game 89-88. Al Horford managed to get 22 points and rebounds to ensure his team got the win.

All-star weekend

Lavine reclaims dunk title

The Rest of the World showed the USA that they’re better than them at their own game when they beat the USA 121-112 in the first show of the All-Star weekend. Nineteen-year-old Timerbwolves forward Andrew scored a game high 22 points, while Victor Oladipo made the same score for the US.

Stephen Curry took home the three-point crown while setting a record 27 points in the All-Star competition. He beat fellow Golden State Warrior Klay Thompson and Kyre Irving for the crown.

Zach Lavine almost got a perfect socre in both rounds of the All-Star Slam Dunk Contest. The nineteen-year-old beat out Victor Oladipo who could only make 75 points compared to Zach’s 94 in the finals.
