Career Ladder – Sudlow is newest EY partner
Kayann Sudlow is now a partner at the accounting firm Ernst and Young Caribbean on the regional management team. She is a partner in the assurance service line and is based in the EY Jamaica office. She works with a number of EY clients in sectors such as manufacturing, mining, financial services and telecommunications.
Sudlow is also the knowledge leader for the EY Caribbean practice, and is a member of the controls and methodology group for the US South-East region of EY.
Prior to joining EY Caribbean in 2012, Sudlow worked in the financial services office of EY Cayman and EY Bahamas.
Sudlow has a BSc in accounting and management studies from the University of the West Indies (UWI) at Mona. She is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ) and is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
Stephenson Miller heads Business Access TV
Denzie Stephenson Miller is now back into television full-time and is general manager of Business Access TV. The role will give her full responsibility for the operations of the new cable channel.
Stephenson Miller has had a career in communications, most recently as an independent communications consultant. Prior to that she worked as a senior associate with Kay Osborne and Associates. She worked in various roles at Television Jamaica (TVJ) from 2005 including studio production manager and programme manager, eventually becoming acting general manager. Her career in media started in 1989 at the Creative Production and Training Centre, where she eventually became acting director of production.
Stephenson Miller holds a BA in mass communication from UWI and an MA degree in communication arts from the New York Institute of Technology.
Parkins takes over from Chin at LASCO Manufacturing
Robert Parkins is now general manager for LASCO Manufacturing Limited. The new position puts him at the helm, replacing former managing director Dr Eileen Chin, wife of Lascelles Chin, who stepped down from her role due to health reasons, according to a LASCO release.
A former managing director at Salada Foods Jamaica Limited, Parkins goes to LASCO Manufacturing with a background in engineering and manufacturing and experience in the fast-moving consumer goods industry. Prior to joining LASCO, Parkins was general manager for Health Brands Limited. He has also held management roles at Jamaica Producers Group (JP Foods) and the Seprod Group of Companies.
Parkins holds an MBA from the Nova Southeastern University, based in Florida, USA, and a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of the West Indies.
