‘THE CRADLE OF CULTURAL STUDIES’
Minister of Education Ronald Thwaites (centre), assists former Prime Minster Edward Seaga (left) to unveil a sign renaming the library and resource centre at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts (EMCVPA) in his honour at the institution’s campus on Arthur Wint Drive in Kingston on March 5. Sharing the moment is principal at the institution Nicholeen DeGrasse-Johnson. The renaming formed part of Founders Week activities and on the same occasion the hall of residence was been renamed for former principal of the college, Lady Rheima Hall, while the external roadway is now called Rex Nettleford Drive.
