Shaggy back on Billboard
SHAGGY, one of dancehall/reggae’s most successful artistes, is back on the Billboard charts. His new single, I Need Your Love, has entered the magazine’s Rhythmic Top 40 and Pop Songs chart (Mainstream Top 40).
Released last year, I Need Your Love features Mohombi, a Swedish singer of Congolese and Swedish heritage, as well as co-writers Faydee of Australia and Grammy-winning Romanian singer/songwriter Costi.
The song initially gained popularity in nightclubs throughout the Middle East, Australia and Europe.
With its entry at number 38 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Top 40, I Need Your Love has given Shaggy his eighth song on that chart. He previously charted with Hey Sexy Lady, Freaky Girl, Angel, Dance and Shout, It Wasn’t Me, Luv Me, Luv Me, Boombastic, and That Girl (with Maxi Priest).
Over on the Pop Songs chart (also known as Mainstream Top 40), Shaggy has another eighth entry, coming in at number 39.
“The success of the single is not solely on me. It is definitely a team effort to reach where we are right now,” said Shaggy.
Hs recent album, Out of Many: One Music, was nominated for a 2015 Grammy for Best Reggae Album.
