McGregor offers latest ‘Flava’
KEMAR ‘Flava’ McGregor is scheduled to release his latest project, Old Fashion Riddim, on Tuesday.
According to McGregor, the seven-track set is an energetic bass-groove designed to re-introduce his deejay-friendly style of filling riddim albums with melodic and ebullient singles.
“It was crafted to impact radio playlists, outdoor reggae jams and sound-system mixtapes with equal adroitness,” he said.
Old Fashion Riddim contains McGregor’s first recorded appearance with multi-Juno Award winner reggae singer Exco Levi, along with tracks from Norway’s 2014 Hit of the Year winner Nico D. Also featured on the set is New York-based reggae singer Ed Robinson, Gappy Ranks’ Generation along with performances from reggae luminaries Million Stylez and Pressure.
A former disc jockey, McGregor got involved in music production just over 12 years ago.
He has produced a number of hit songs including Gyptian’s Mama Don’t Cry, Queen Ifrica’s Daddy Don’t Touch Me There, and Nothing to Smile About by Morgan Heritage.
He has also produced two albums by Gyptian: My Name is Gyptian and I Can Feel Your Pain.
