What’s happening at NSWMA?
Dear Editor,
We live in a wishy washy country, where the lack of accountability, corruption and mismanagement are the order of the day. Those who are in charge of running the affairs of the country have caused suffering on the people.
What kind of ‘dolly house’ is Jennifer Edwards running at the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA)? What has she added to the NSWMA since taking the job of executive director? What qualifications does she have in operating a landfill in the first place?
City Kingston is stifling in every meaning and context of the word. When I listen to Edwards speak, it is as if a bell is ringing off in my head, because she does not understand the inconvenience she has caused many of us over and over again. What hurts most of all is that she has no solution to the problem. What I have reasoned from everything is that another fire could happen next week or some time down the road and all she will be is a reactionary executive director.
It wouldn’t be so bad if this was the only problem at the NSWMA, but the city of Kingston is filthy and grimy as never before seen. Garbage collection by the agency is woefully lacklustre. I demand better. We need to see an improvement in the operations of things. We cannot continue like this.
I am so upset at the lack of regard we are shown day to day. We have a prime minister who knows nothing that is happening in the country except in the political arena. Is that the sort of governance that will lead us to becoming a place to live, raise family and do business?
