A Stush Summer

Thinking of a fun summer excursion for the family? Or perhaps a couple’s day out during these long lazy days? Thursday Life takes away the guesswork and recommends a summer experience of the ‘stush’ kind for you — consider a trek to Christopher and Lisa Binns’ Stush in the Bush found on their 15-acre Zionites Farm in Bamboo, St Ann.

The charismatic pair, who last year copped two wins at The Jamaica Observer Table Talk Food Awards for Best New Food Item and Best Producer, recently played perfect hosts to us at a day-to-evening ‘Moonlight’-billed repast at their hilltop abode, welcoming a motley group of food enthusiasts from Kingston and within their garden parish home. Giving a helping hand for the Binns’ invitational farm-to-table experience were culinary siblings Michelle and Suzanne Rousseau, who spotlighted the Binns’ farming and sauce enterprise on their Two Sisters And A Meal TV show.

So, as you contemplate making the trip to St Ann to soak up Stush’s rustic charm and delicious organic bites, we offer a peek inside our memorable visit.
