#BEIJING2015: Fedrick Dacres advances to discus throw final
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica’s Fedrick Dacres booked his place in the discus throw final after his first attempt at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China.
In fact, Dacres was one of two athletes from a field of 15 competitors in group A of the qualification round to automatically qualify for the final, after throwing 65.77.
Poland’s Piotr Malachowski is the other athlete in group A to have automatically qualified with a throw of 65.59. However, he threw that distance on his third attempt.
A distance of 65.00 is required in order to automatically advance to the final
