Off-duty cops seize gun and ammo, arrest 2 men
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Two off-duty policemen from the Kingston Eastern Division seized a Taurus 9mm pistol along with a magazine loaded with 17 rounds of ammunition at the intersection of Dunoon Road and Windward Road in Kingston, on Sunday.
Two men were also arrested in connection with the seizure.
Reports from the Elletson Road police are that about 3:10 am, the lawmen who were travelling in a private motor vehicle noticed two men coming from a party in the area.
The men reportedly aroused the suspicion of the lawmen when one of them allegedly pulled a firearm from his waistband and discharged a round. The man then reportedly gave the weapon to another man, who put it in his waistband.
The lawmen exited the motor vehicle and accosted both men, searched them and seized the loaded firearm.
The identities of both men have not been released by the police who say investigations are continuing.
