WATA to power 7th annual CUMI Come Run
LOCAL manufacturing and distribution giant Wisynco has thrown its support behind the annual Committee for the Upliftment of the Mentally Ill (CUMI) Come Run.
The run, now in its seventh year, is set for Saturday at the Tryall Club in Sandy Bay, Hanover.
The announcement was made by Regional Sales Manager Vivia Newman at the event’s media launch last month.
“We at Wisynco are pleased to be on board with CUMI for the seventh staging of the run. The importance of an organisation like CUMI in our society cannot be overstated, and every effort must be given to see to its continuance. WATA will be the premium sponsoring brand and will see to the proper rehydration of the participants.”
Wisynco joined a myriad of other supporting companies, including another first-time sponsor Solo Jamaica (SJ) Foundation.
Solo Jamaica Limited’s Liliana Valles also lauded CUMI for the work they have been doing to rehabilitate the mentally ill in the parish.
“The SJ Foundation is pleased to be a part of CUMI Come Run 2015, as it has witnessed the consistent and rewarding efforts made by CUMI’s board of directors throughout the years in assisting the mentally ill in Montego Bay.
“The run is an invitation to support a worthy and necessary cause. We look forward to a fun event in the hope that it will raise not only funds, but awareness among community members so that more funding and assistance can be obtained for this worthy cause.”
JMMB, Fontana Pharmacy, Rainforest Seafood, Caribbean Producers Jamaica, Sandals Foundation, National Health Fund, Xerox, National Bakery, Captain Watersports, and Palladium Hotel & Resorts have also thrown their support behind the charity run.
An estimated 800 participants are expected to register for this year’s run set for the Tryall Club. The annual run is the major fund-raising event for the organisation, which provides well-needed funds to bolster its trust.
