Would a third party ever stand a chance in Jamaica?
KINGSTON, Jamaica – There are nine more days left until the September 30 deadline to get on the next voters’ list.
Yesterday we asked: Do you care who forms the next Government?
Many respondents said: “Six a one, half dozen of the other.”
But there were a few who said they do care who forms the next government.
Elsordo said: “Yeah! I do care who forms the next Government and I am all prepared to vote. Ha! Ha! I can already see what the outcome will be. There will be a woman bawling including some vexing elder men. I will be enjoying a crate of Heinekens. Cheers!”
Deborahjam1 also said yes.
“Definitely!!! yes!!! I care who forms the next government because I am distressed by the SOS calls from home for money to buy food and medication. I want to see people as being independent and being able to have the pride and dignity to take care of their own needs,” she said.
Meanwhile, David Turnbull said on Facebook: “I care more that the best party representatives form and govern the country than I care which party they are aligned to.”
And Andrew Simpson Miller does not care.
“No, I don’t care who forms the next government because it cannot and will not be better or worse under either JLP or PNP. Under either of them it will be same ole same ole,” said Andrew Simpson Miller.
And Pieter Crush said he didn’t “give a hoot who forms the next government”.
“I don’t see an intelligent person running for office in Jamaica, which means Jamaica will be the same under these spineless, non-politicians,” Pieter Crush said. “If a dead Manley was on the voting paper with Holness, Jamaican people would still vote for Manley. Should I explain my reason for saying that?”
