Eight horses claimed on Saturday
The claiming box once again continued to attract attention with eight claims being made on the 10-race programme last Saturday.
In the day’s second race, runaway winner Jody’s Lodge was claimed from Spencer Chung by Rohan Gordon acting as both trainer and owner for $250,000, St Bernard was claimed from Marlon Anderson by Patrick Taylor for Golden Syndicate for $250,000, and Princess Niyah was claimed by Colin Blair for Paul Swaby from Patrick Fong for $210,000.
In the eighth race, Persian Belle was taken from Joseph Thomas by Patrick Lynch for Parishioners for $350,000, Unbreakable was claimed from Steadman Curtis by Gary Subratie for True Friends for $350,000; Cold Ground was claimed by Delroy Spencer for himself from Donovan Plummer for $350,000, and the Rowan Mathie – trained Batidor De Mundo was claimed by Marlon Anderson for Bronx Connection also for $350,000.
Margaret Parchment claimed Smokin Man from Lorne Kirlew for herself for $180,000 from the 10th and final race.
