Vows – Wedding Euphoria

Last-minute touches were made to booths, chairs straightened and

details checked as the fourth staging of the premier wedding and

event-planning exhibition got underway. The Jamaica Bridal Expo 2015,

held at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in the second city became home

to — Friday, September 19 – Sunday, September 20 — over 40 registered

booths and table exhibitors. From fancy décor to elegant landscapes —

as well as lighting and production — the ballroom at the Convention

Centre was transformed into a bridal wonderland.

The three-day weekend exhibition provided brides- and grooms-to-be

with insider tips from world-class wedding and event planners. There was

also live entertainment by local musicians including the Bung Guh Lhung

Steel Band, vocalist Rory Frankson, the Young Jamaica Ensemble, and

saxophonist David Cunningham, to name a few. Meanwhile, fashion shows on

Saturday and Sunday featured collections from Bliss Bridal Boutique and

Earl’s Fashions & Tailoring. The highlight of the weekend was the

Caribbean Producers Jamaica Limited Capturing Precious Journeys, Dream

Wedding segment — a live wedding at 4:00 pm on Saturday for Haley Lugg

and Rodney Iznaga. The two tied the knot as their bridal party along

with 30 guests and expo patrons witnessed the ceremony officiated by

Reverend Terrance Gordon. Vows shifts gears this week to share

highlights from the exhibition.
